"Bigger Than I Thought"5/6/2020 Welcome to a new month! May is officially a month of new life and new growth. Trees are blossoming, flowers are blooming, gardens are being planted, and sunshine basks the landscape. Birds sing their songs of praise to God and fly about looking for food and fun, while butterflies flutter on the gentle breezes. It’s a time of freshness and new beginnings. While for many of us this is a different spring than we could ever have imagined, it can be a season of new beginnings for us too. This month, we will continue to lift our eyes off our situations and circumstances and fix them on our precious Lord and Savior—the One who knows and holds the future, and the One who sees and knows exactly what we’re going through.

Worship Set #13 - "The Blessing"4/29/2020 During this season of COVID-19, worship has been a big part of keeping believers united and focused on the main thing: Jesus Christ. From this extra focus on music, there has arisen several anthems for the Church. Songs that are resonating deeply in the hearts of people across the country and around the world. One such song is “Way Maker” which we covered at the beginning of this month. Now, I want to focus on another song that has become a coronavirus anthem during these days.
Worship Set #13 - "Lord Send Revival"4/22/2020 We’re living in unprecedented times. This phrase has been a buzz phrase over the past few months as the world tries to wrap its head around what is happening with COVID-19. We have never lived through something like this before. Governments have never enacted such broad, economically devastating policies before. The world as we know it has shifted like the earth’s tectonic plates. The novel coronavirus has rocked our world and the aftershocks will be felt for a while. The media even uses earthquake language as it conveys updates on what the national and global epicenters for COVID-19 are.
Worship Set #13 - "He Lives"4/15/2020 I hope you all had a blessed Resurrection Sunday! As we continue to remember and celebrate the finished work of the cross, I have a newish song to share with you. “He Lives” by Church of the City was released in January of this year. It’s a powerful anthem celebrating the risen Lord. Therefore, it’s the perfect one to focus on post-Easter.
Worship Set #13 - "It is Finished"4/8/2020 We are half way through Passion Week. It has been a different Easter season with so many things canceled and closed. However, if anything, we have more time and space to remember, ponder, and reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice. We are just two short days away from observing Good Friday and all that took place on that day over two thousand years ago. Tomorrow is Maundy Thursday, when different churches remember the Lord’s last supper with His disciples, the final instructions He gave them, and then His struggle in the garden of Gethsemane where He fully submitted His will to the Father’s.
Worship Set #13 - "Way Maker"4/1/2020 April 1st. April Fool’s Day. But today is no joke. Today is the beginning of the month leading to Easter. Today in the midst of the panic that has gripped our world, we’re going to forget the crazy, forget the stress, forget the unknowns, and choose to worship and remember all that this season represents for us as believers in the Risen Lord. So take a moment to find a quiet space and reflect on all that Jesus has done for you and what your response to that gift will be.
Worship Set #12 - "More to Come"3/25/2020 Right now it feels like our world is unraveling. Broad orders and changes to our everyday lives are taking place within 24 hour periods, and life seems to be on hold in many ways. But in the midst of the chaos, in the midst of the uncertainty and fear, we can know one thing is certain: God doesn’t change. His faithfulness remains and will continue in the midst of this storm. And if we walk with Him, we know that the best is yet to come.
Worship Set #12 - "See a Victory"3/18/2020 It’s amazing how God works! I picked the songs out for this month’s worship set at the end of February. Now, in light of all that is happening in our world, today’s song feature is especially appropriate. Fear and panic has gripped our country and the world as we face an unknown future, but God is still in control. Therefore, as believers, we know that no matter what the future holds, we’re going to see a victory. And that’s what today’s worship song is all about: reminding ourselves that God is sovereign and has already won the victory over sin, death, and fear.
I first heard today’s song feature on a live stream of the 2020 Passion Conference this past January. It was powerful to watch a stadium full of 65,000 young people declare with one voice that there is nothing that our God can’t do. May we have the faith to believe what we sing!
Worship Set #12 - "Great Things"3/4/2020 Spring is in the air. Here in my California home, we have daffodils blooming in all their splendor, birds joyfully chirping, and new life being born in the form of baby lambs and new greenery. It’s a season of celebration as winter is passing and new life is beginning. So in the spirit of celebration, let’s rejoice in what God has done in our lives, bringing new life from what was once dead and freedom to those once held captive.
