Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

"Bigger Than I Thought"

Welcome to a new month!  May is officially a month of new life and new growth.  Trees are blossoming, flowers are blooming, gardens are being planted, and sunshine basks the landscape.  Birds sing their songs of praise to God and fly about looking for food and fun, while butterflies flutter on the gentle breezes.  It’s a time of freshness and new beginnings.  While for many of us this is a different spring than we could ever have imagined, it can be a season of new beginnings for us too.  This month, we will continue to lift our eyes off our situations and circumstances and fix them on our precious Lord and Savior—the One who knows and holds the future, and the One who sees and knows exactly what we’re going through.
We’ll kick off this month and new worship set with a song that has become dear to many during this season of unknown.  It’s a song that is a dialog between us and God.  It opens with an honest conversation that God is bigger than we think.  Then this song moves to a place of surrender.  A place of declaring that, since God is bigger than we could ever imagine, He is worthy of our trust.

This is a timely message for us as we face an unknown future.  Therefore, I hope and pray that you’ll take a moment to ponder and pray this song to God.  Sing it from a place of honesty, vulnerability, and sincerity.  It won’t necessarily change your circumstances, but it will transform your perspective.  Through this song, the power of God can work and speak to you so that you can heartily join in with the bridge which submits and commits to trusting God:
“I will rest
In the Father’s hands
Leave the rest
In the Father’s hands”
We are living in crazy, unbelievable times.  However, none of this took God by surprise.  So if through this season we can learn one thing and acknowledge that God is bigger than we thought, we can walk out of this pandemic into a new season.  A new season of trust, faith, and absolute belief that no matter what happens, our Abba Father’s got it and He’s got us.  May this song speak to your soul and give you a fresh perspective on who God is.  Here’s “Bigger Than I Thought” by Passion.
"Bigger Than I Thought"
by Passion

Speak to me

When the silence steals my voice
You understand me
You understand me

Come to me

In the valley of unknowns
You understand me
You understand me
You understand me, God
You understand me

So I throw all my cares before You

My doubts and fears don't scare You
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought

I stop all negotiations

With the God of all creation
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought You were
So much bigger than I thought
You're bigger than I thought You were

I believe

But help my unbelief
You understand me
You understand me

Help me reach

The faith that's underneath
You understand me
You understand me
Yes, You understand me, God
You understand me

I throw all my cares before You

My doubts and fears don't scare You
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought

I stop all negotiations

With the God of all creation
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought You were

I will rest in the Father's hands
Leave the rest in the Father's hands

I will rest in the Father's hands

Leave the rest in the Father's hands

So I throw all my cares before You
My doubts and fears don't scare You
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought

I stop all negotiations

With the God of all creation
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought
You're so much bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought You were
You're bigger than I thought You were

Wonderful, Kristin!!! Love your writing!!
Spring is the season of witnessing God's glory and blessings. Flowers are blooming abundantly, New life is all around! Birds building their nests for their young....wobbly baby animals learning to run and jump. Celebration of God's goodness everywhere. This did not stop when a virus altered our daily human situations. This is just our testing and trusting time!!! Right now it is so very important to Fix Your Eyes on what is lovely....what is permanent....what is bigger than all our cares and fears...bigger than uncertainty!! It's our all powerful Father God! Our protector, comforter, healer, redeemer, and on and on! So much more than we will ever need!! We rest in this!!
Sending a very Happy Mother's Day to your wonderful mother!
Love and hugs always, Margie
