Worship Set #13 - "Lord Send Revival"

We’re living in unprecedented times.  This phrase has been a buzz phrase over the past few months as the world tries to wrap its head around what is happening with COVID-19.  We have never lived through something like this before.  Governments have never enacted such broad, economically devastating policies before.  The world as we know it has shifted like the earth’s tectonic plates.  The novel coronavirus has rocked our world and the aftershocks will be felt for a while.  The media even uses earthquake language as it conveys updates on what the national and global epicenters for COVID-19 are. 

​However, in the midst of all this, one thing is sure:  God is moving among the wreckage left in the wake of this pandemic.  In any crisis, people are becoming more aware of their mortality and are looking for answers to life’s fundamental questions, “Why am I here?”  “What will happen when I die?”  And “Is there any hope?”  Because of this, the harvest is even more plentiful, and the stage is set for a global spiritual awakening. 
 
Therefore, it’s time to pray for revival like never before. The stage is set.  The time could be now.  So the people of God should be asking the Lord of heaven to pour His Spirit out.  We can do this through prayer and through our worship, which is why I love this song I recently heard called “Lord Send Revival” by Hillsong Young and Free.
 
Written months before COVID-19 swept the globe, this song is a prayer.  A prayer for revival.  A prayer for spiritual awakening.  A prayer for God to pour His Spirit out again.  I love when we sing our prayers to God, when our petitions can be turned into musical cries we can utter throughout the day.  Music can unify us and remind us of what’s important.  Our mind remembers songs easier than just words, which is why good worship songs can be so powerful. 
 
Therefore, let’s join with our brothers and sisters around the world in praying for revival.  Let’s make this song an anthem for these days and ask God to pour His Spirit out.  My favorite part of this song is the second bridge:
