We’re in the middle of Passion Week. Palm Sunday has passed, and we looked at the empty praise Jesus’ followers gave Him that memorable day over two thousand years ago and the take-aways we can glean from that event. Good Friday is before us and all that it represents, along with Jesus’ struggle in the garden of Gethsemane. And beyond that is the glory of the Resurrection, the empty tomb, and the finished work. So it’s appropriate that this week’s song for “Here I Am to Worship” should cover all these highlights from Passion Week.
This song has been circling around in my head for the last week or so. While it hasn’t always been a favorite of mine, God really impressed it upon my heart recently. The most powerful part (and my favorite!) is the chorus:
How wonderful, how glorious
My Savior’s scars, victorious
My chains are gone, my debt is paid
From death to life and grace to grace
