Worship Set #12 - "See a Victory"

It’s amazing how God works!  I picked the songs out for this month’s worship set at the end of February.  Now, in light of all that is happening in our world, today’s song feature is especially appropriate.  Fear and panic has gripped our country and the world as we face an unknown future, but God is still in control.  Therefore, as believers, we know that no matter what the future holds, we’re going to see a victory.  And that’s what today’s worship song is all about: reminding ourselves that God is sovereign and has already won the victory over sin, death, and fear.
“See a Victory” by Elevation Worship is an anthem of faith.  A declaration of belief and trust.  And a banner song of hope.  While we might not always fully believe what this song declares, we can sing it to ourselves and remind ourselves of God’s promise to see us through.  Life isn’t easy; in fact, one of the many things Jesus promised is that we would have tribulation or difficulty.  But in the same sentence He said, “Take heart, I have overcome the world.”  (John 16:33)

The battle is the Lord’s.  He is sovereign and in control.  And despite the craziness that fills our world, He’s got us firmly in His loving hands.  So we can trust Him in the midst of fear.  We can rely on Him when facing the unknown.  And we can walk in hope, because we know that we will see a victory.

There are so many parts of this song that are taken directly from Scripture.  I think my favorite part is the simple chorus.
“I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord”
While the words are simple and the song may seem repetitive, if we truly believe what we sing and live our lives in light of this truth, our world will change.  The circumstances will not, but the perspective we have on life will completely shift.  So let’s sing this song to ourselves, to our families, to our churches, and to our world.  Because the truth is, no matter what comes, Jesus has won the victory.  And if we put our faith and hope in Him, we’re going to see that victory too.  Here’s “See a Victory” by Elevation Worship.
"See a Victory"
by Elevation Worship

The weapon may be formed, but it won't prosper

When the darkness falls, it won't prevail
'Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail
Oh, my God will never fail

I'm gonna see a victory

I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord

There's power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I'm not backing down from any giant
'Cause I know how this story ends
Yes, I know how this story ends

I'm gonna see a victory

I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord

I'm gonna see a victory

I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord

You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good

You take what the enemy meant for evil

And You turn it for good
You turn it for good

I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
