Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

Worship Set #13 - "It is Finished"

4/8/2020

Picture
We are half way through Passion Week.  It has been a different Easter season with so many things canceled and closed.  However, if anything, we have more time and space to remember, ponder, and reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice.  We are just two short days away from observing Good Friday and all that took place on that day over two thousand years ago.  Tomorrow is Maundy Thursday, when different churches remember the Lord’s last supper with His disciples, the final instructions He gave them, and then His struggle in the garden of Gethsemane where He fully submitted His will to the Father’s.
This is a time of somber remembrance.  It’s a time to look closely at the darkest week of history, witness the fickle and perverted nature of humanity, and watch our Savior walk towards Calvary.  We must remember Jesus’ sacrifice and not take lightly what He endured for our sake.  However, it is also a time to celebrate!  A time to rejoice in the finished work of Christ!  A season to live in the resurrected power of God and final work of the cross.

Therefore, our worship feature for today is a passionate declaration of remembrance and celebration.  It remembers Jesus’ sacrifice, and what the cross means to us, and celebrates the finality of that work.  Because of the cross, we don’t need to earn our way to salvation.  Because of the cross, the battle is over, the victory is assured.  Christ has won it all.

So let’s celebrate what Christ has bought for us!  Let’s rejoice in the finished work of Jesus!  Let’s declare with all our hearts that “It is done.  It is finished.  Christ has won.  I’m forgiven.  Sing His praise.  He is worthy of our praise.  Forever.”  Here’s “It is Finished” by Passion.
"It is Finished"
by Passion

The cross is my beginning

The line drawn in the sand
The end of all my striving
Now I am born again

There, Jesus was forsaken

So I will never be
His grace is my salvation
The gift of God, the work of Calvary

It is done, it is finished

Christ has won, He is risen
Grace is here
Love has triumphed over death forever

The cross needs no addition

His mercy is complete
His love is not in question
The Son of God has spoken over me

It is done, it is finished

Christ has won, He is risen
Grace is here
Love has triumphed over death forever

Strongholds bowing to the Savior

Resurrection power over every circumstance
His word stands final and forever
It will not be shaken, He alone has won it all

Strongholds bowing to the Savior

Resurrection power over every circumstance
His word stands final and forever
It will not be shaken, He alone has won it all

It is done, it is finished

Christ has won, He is risen
Grace is here
Love has triumphed over death forever

It is done, it is finished

Mercy won, I'm forgiven
Sing His name, He is worthy of our praise, Jesus
He has won, He has won
Oh He is worthy of our praise
Oh, Jesus, oh, Jesus
We sing your praise forever

This morning, on the news, I heard that the health care professionals were predicting that Easter Sunday would most likely be one of worst days for deaths, from the Cornavirus, we have seen so far! Indeed a dire prediction! Think about the timing! Easter Sunday! Could this be a a shake-up-- wake up call! An opening for many to invite the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts.. or a reinforcement , to all that have, of what we know and believe! As the song says Jesus has given us "Resurrection power over every circumstance." If we don't yield to what we see in the world today...we will not be shaken..we will surely be stronger. Through Him and with Him we are conquerors! "Love has triumphed over death forever." P.S. Cornavirus too!!!
