I first heard today’s song feature on a live stream of the 2020 Passion Conference this past January. It was powerful to watch a stadium full of 65,000 young people declare with one voice that there is nothing that our God can’t do. May we have the faith to believe what we sing!

Worship Set #12 - "Great Things"3/4/2020 Spring is in the air. Here in my California home, we have daffodils blooming in all their splendor, birds joyfully chirping, and new life being born in the form of baby lambs and new greenery. It’s a season of celebration as winter is passing and new life is beginning. So in the spirit of celebration, let’s rejoice in what God has done in our lives, bringing new life from what was once dead and freedom to those once held captive.
Worship Set #11 - "Love on the Line"2/26/2020 As we finish out this worship set focused on the love of God, I’m going to close with a song that has been on my mind and heart for the past couple of months. It was actually the song that inspired this whole set and attuned my heart to meditate on God’s immeasurable love. This song is “Love on the Line” by Hillsong Worship.
Continuing our focus on God’s incredible love, today’s song feature explores the greatness of God’s love and how far He was willing to pursue us. I wonder if we sometimes grow callused to the awesomeness of God’s love and lose sight of how great a sacrifice and how much it cost Him to love us so. We get used to the story of the cross and the message of salvation that it is no longer novel or amazing. But this is a danger place to be! For God’s love is amazing and we should never lose our wonder and gratitude for His immense sacrifice.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Whether you celebrate this holiday or not, it’s a good time to remember and rejoice in God’s amazing love for us. And today’s song feature helps us do just that.
Worship Set 11 - "God So Loved"2/5/2020 Another month…how time marches on! February is the month of love, month of hearts, and month of romance. Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Our hearts yearn for complete, unconditional love. We have been hardwired to desire God’s love. The problem is that we look for it in flawed human beings. So while the world celebrates human love and the temporariness of that fickle emotion, let’s spend this month worshipping God for His unfathomable, unconditional, boundless love toward us.
Worship Set 10 - "Follow You Anywhere"1/29/2020 As we come to the close of January and get used to the rhythm and routine of 2020, let’s not forget the excitement and anticipation we had at New Year’s. Let’s not forget the resolutions, dreams, and goals we made at the beginning of the year. And may we especially not forget the covenants and resolutions we made with God. So as we wrap up our New Year worship set, I have a special song I want to share with you that focuses on our devotion to the Lord.
Worship Set 10 - "Jesus Paid it All"1/22/2020 I love it when timeless hymns are given new life and vigor. Not that the original song was old-fashioned or out-dated, but sometimes a new bridge or chorus to a traditional hymn allows it to speak to a new generation in a fresh way. I feel like this is true for the hymn “Jesus Paid it All” with Passion Music’s new bridge added to it.
Worship Set 10 - "In Control"1/15/2020 Life can get crazy sometimes. As we look forward and focus on worshipping God at the beginning of this new decade, it seems that life has gotten crazier than normal. It seems that many people I know of or have brushed shoulders with over the past month have either lost a loved one, experienced a family emergency, had an accident, or are knee deep in medical challenges. Life can become overwhelming at times, but there is One who is constant and never changing. The God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow is reliable and totally in control. Today’s song feature celebrates and declares our faith in that truth.
As we march forward into the new year and make our new year resolutions and goals, let’s make some goals for our spiritual life also. Let’s renew our purpose and commitment to Christ. Let’s review and remind ourselves what a surrendered life to God looks like. And as we do this, the natural outpouring should be praise. Praise for all that God has done for us and worship as a sacrifice and offering of surrender.
