Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

Worship Set 7 - "Forever"

10/30/2019

Picture
We’ve spent a month glorifying Jesus.  We’ve remembered and pondered the depth of His sacrifice and worshipped Him for who He is and what He’s done for us.  Now, as we come to the end of October and the world around us prepares to celebrate the darkest day of the year, let us magnify Jesus and lift Him up over all else.

Paul wrote in Philippians that because of Jesus’ obedience “God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  (Philippians 2:9-11)  Let’s join in that worship!

“Forever” is a powerful worship song crafted by a group of song writers.  It exalts the name of Jesus and gives us a dynamic anthem to join heaven in singing what Paul wrote about.  Forever Jesus is glorifying.  Forever He is magnified.  Forever He is lifted high.  Hallelujah to the Lamb who has overcome!

Jesus has done so much for us.  The least we could do is worship Him and give Him the sacrifice of our praise, give Him the honor and glory due His name.  Therefore, as we close this month of glorifying Jesus, let’s take a moment and prayerfully sing and mediate on this worship song that lifts up the name of our King.  Words feel inadequate to future describe the powerful worship that can happen through this song.  So let’s just dive right into worshipping our Savior.  Here’s “Forever” by Kari Jobe and others.
"Forever"
by Kari Jobe and more

The moon and stars they wept

The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen

His body on the cross

His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon him

One final breath He gave

As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness

A battle in the grave

The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake

The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever, He is glorified

Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive

The ground began to shake

The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever, He is glorified

Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing Hallelujah

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
