Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

Worship Set 6 - "Overcome"

9/18/2019

Picture
God is able to do much more than all we ask or imagine.  He is higher, stronger, and greater than all else.  Yet despite His power and authority, His place of honor and superiority over all things, He chose to humble Himself and become like us—fragile and human.  Why?  So that He might overcome death.
Today’s song feature is one of my favorites because it walks through the message of the gospel and our response.  It highlights all that Jesus did for us and gives us a moving worship response in the chorus.  It also talks about our new status through the blood of the Lamb.

My favorite part is the chorus which contains what should be our heartfelt response to Christ’s amazing sacrifice.  “Savior, worthy of honor and glory, worthy of all our praise, You overcame.  Jesus, awesome in power forever, awesome and great is Your name, You overcame.”

I pray that this song stirs your heart anew with the wonder of the gospel and reminds you of God’s great power over death.  He defeated it, and through the blood of Jesus, we can overcome it too.  Here’s “Overcome” by Jeremy Camp.
"Overcome"
by Jeremy Camp

Seated above, enthroned in the Father's love

Destined to die, poured out for all mankind
God's only Son, perfect and spotless one
He never sinned but suffered as if He did

All authority

Every victory is Yours
All authority
Every victory is Yours

Savior, worthy of honor and glory
Worthy of all our praise, You overcame
Jesus, awesome in power forever
Awesome and great is Your name, You overcame

Power in hand speaking the Father's plan

You're sending us out, light in this broken land

All authority

Every victory is Yours

Savior, worthy of honor and glory

Worthy of all our praise, You overcame, You overcame
Jesus, awesome in power forever
Awesome and great is Your name, You overcame

We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb

And the word of our testimony, everyone overcome
We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb
And the word of our testimony, everyone overcome

Savior, worthy of honor and glory
Worthy of all our praise, You overcame, You overcame Jesus
Jesus, awesome in power forever
Awesome and great is Your name, You overcame
You overcame (You overcame)
Jesus (You overcame)
You overcame (You overcame)
You overcame
