Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

Worship Set #15 - "Run to Your Name"

6/3/2020

We’re living in crazy times.  Just when we thought things couldn’t get much worse, they did.  However, in the midst of the crazy, in the middle of the uncertainty and chaos, we have a refuge we can run to.  Proverbs 18:10 assures us that, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”  Therefore, as we face a season where fear and anger abounds, let us run to our place of safety, the name of the Lord.
Today’s song feature is a brand new song that has actually not been recorded and released to the world yet.  During this time of quarantine, my family and I have been “attending” Kyle Idleman’s church in Kentucky, Southeast Christian Church.  Their worship collective has written a new song that is so appropriate for this season called “Run to Your Name.”  While this song has not been released to the world, they have been teaching it to their church over the past couple months and the words keep circling in my mind.  Therefore, I want to share as much as I can remember now and will update this post once the song releases.

“Run to Your Name” by Awaken Worship takes the truth that God is our refuge and puts it to a beautiful song that is a declaration of trust.  It’s a reminder that even when life seems bleak and hopeless, we always have a place of safety we can run to.  My favorite part is the chorus which has been resonating in my heart over the last couple of weeks.
“I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my well of strength
I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my hiding place”

As you face your challenges and experience moments of darkness and potential despair in life, whether it be during this season or times to come, I pray that this song will become a source of rich blessing and hope for your soul.  May you sing this over yourself as a reminder to always run to the name of the Lord, which is strong to save and is a place of refuge for those who trust in Him.  Here’s “Run to Your Name” by Awaken Worship.
“Run to Your Name”
By Awaken Worship

When the battle takes its toll
When I fear I can’t go on
Though it feels like I’m alone
There’s a place I can go

Before I build on sinking sand
Before I trust in flesh alone
May I seek Your perfect wisdom
There’s a place I can go

I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my well of strength
I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my hiding place

I’ve a king who hears my cry
I’ve a tower strong and mighty
Standing high above it all
There’s a place I can go
A place I can go

I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my well of strength
I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my hiding place

Your promise spoken
I know You’ll keep
When I come close
You come close to me
Your grace an ocean
Your love so deep
When I come close
You come close to me

Even when my sins are many
I come broken to your throne
Leave my past walk in your freedom
There’s a place I can go
A place I can go

I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my well of strength
I will run to Your name
Run to Your name
Jesus my hiding place

Hi Jennifer! Thank you for taking time to leave a comment! I always love hearing from my readers.

I agree, this is a raise your hands in worship type of song! We always need reminders of where our source of strength and hope is found. May we always remember to run to the name of Jesus for shelter, safety, and provision. God bless you as you worship Him!

I so love this song. It’s so anointed and so real and raw. Most importantly, we need to talk to God.
