Worship Set #14 - "Yes I Will"5/20/2020 A new week and a new day to celebrate what God has done in our lives. While it may seem like everything in life has hit pause, God is working in us to shape and refine us. If anything, He’s doing more work in each of our hearts during this season because we have time to focus on Him. So don’t be afraid of the extra quiet. Don’t resent the refining moments as you share close proximity with those you’re sheltering in place with. Don’t tune out the still, small voice of God as He whispers truth and correction into your heart. Embrace it, and use this time to grow in the Lord. In the midst of this global pandemic, a friend asked me what worship songs I’d recommend when our hearts are sad and down. So many of our anthems of praise are filled with joy and enthusiasm and are sung with a happy heart. But what songs can we sing when our heart is broken, the day seems dark, or the future bleak. What songs can we sing during a time like this—when anxiety is rising, depression is closing in, and uncertainty surrounds us? I have shared several songs that I feel are appropriate and greatly needed during this time. But today, I’m going to highlight a song that will answer the question of what to sing when we are sad and our hearts are heavy. It’s a song that is a declaration to God, and to ourselves, that no matter the circumstances, we will resolve to praise the Lord. In the good times and the bad, we will bless the Lord. “Yes I Will” by Vertical Worship has been circulating in the church for a while; however, it is during a season like this that these songs become more meaningful. While this song is directed at praising God in the midst of anything and everything, it is also directed inward as we remind ourselves to worship in the midst of pain. With the repeating resolution of “Yes I will”, this powerful song gives us a declaration to sing in the midst of the storm and helps our heart to worship in the middle of sorrow. My favorite part of this song is the powerful chorus. It’s a bold declaration that we sing not only to God, but to ourselves. Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley Yes I will, bless Your name Yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy All my days, oh yes, I will For all my days, oh yes, I will Therefore, I pray that this song will deeply touch you in whatever situation you find yourself in and that it will become an anthem on your darkest days—that no matter what comes your way you will echo these words: “Yes I will life You high.” Here’s “Yes I Will” by Vertical Worship. "Yes I Will" by Vertical Worship I count on one thing The same God that never fails Will not fail me now You won't fail me now In the waiting The same God who's never late Is working all things out You're working all things out Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley Yes I will, bless Your name Oh, yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy All my days, oh yes I will I count on one thing The same God that never fails Will not fail me now You won't fail me now In the waiting The same God who's never late Is working all things out Is working all things out Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley Yes I will, bless Your name Oh, yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy For all my days, oh yes I will For all my days, oh yes, I will And I choose to praise To glorify, glorify The Name of all names That nothing can stand against And I choose to praise To glorify, glorify The Name of all names That nothing can stand against Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley Yes I will, bless Your name Oh, yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy All my days, oh yes, I will For all my days, oh yes, I will For all my days, yes, I will
