"But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand"
Like a gigantic puzzle with all its pieces strewn about, so also situations in life can look like the aftermath of a hurricane. However, it is from the chaos of the scattered pieces that we come to truly appreciate the beauty of the completed work. Many times, though, we don’t get to see the finished product or the purpose behind the chaos.
We only see one or two individual pieces of the puzzle. It is in times like these that we must trust the great Designer and Mastermind behind the project; the One who is unseen and the driving force behind everything. That One is God.
When we are involved in God’s work, we rarely get to see the entire picture. We are merely tools the Creator is using to construct His masterpiece, and as tools, we are not given the pattern, only wielded to do as the Master desires. Therefore, who are we to ask Him why He is building this or crafting that? No, the hammer cannot say to the builder, “why are you making me drive four nails instead of five?” Likewise, we should not question the God of the universe as He goes about His purposes on this earth and in our lives. Instead we should say, “Here I am Lord, use me.”
