The Fullness of Time Has Come

As we enter into this season of Advent, the awe-inspiring realization that the Creator God lowered Himself and became a part of His creation through the person of Jesus Christ washes over me anew. But do we truly comprehend the significance of this historical event?

The Christmas season has become the greatest commercial and retail sensation of the year and goes to great lengths to inform us of what we “need” months in advance.  However, have we taken the time to stop and truly ponder what Christmas commemorates for mankind?  Have we been still before the Lord and allowed Him to reveal to us the significance of the humble arrival of the King of Kings?

I think not.

For this reason, let us take the next twenty-four days and really focus our minds and hearts on the great sacrifice Jesus made by coming to earth as a babe.  And let us also look at the lives of the faithful men and women who, because of their obedience to God, became participants in this incredible beginning of God’s Redemption story.  From Mary to Simeon, to the Magi and shepherds, there are lessons to be learned from these very ordinary people whom God utilized to set in motion His extraordinary plan.

​So let’s get started and learn from the characters of the Nativity story and see to what lengths our Savior lowered Himself to redeem mankind.
