Sitting in the pre-dawn stillness of Christmas morning is both peaceful and relaxing. It gives time to pause and reflect on the true reason and meaning of Christmas. Time to ponder and savor the truths that shine brightest at Christmas.
Jesus came to earth as a helpless baby so that we might intimately know and receive a Savior. Divinity joined humanity. Creator became like His creation.
The Eternal, Infinite One became finite and fragile. Omnipresence experienced confinement to a human body. And the One whose train and glory fills the heavenly throne room, entered the world naked, crying, and so, so tiny.
This is Christmas. This is what we celebrate and take time to remember. The lights, presents, good food, and fun times all point to and reflect the greatest Gift given and joy received: Emmanuel, God with us. So as you spend time with those you love and gather round the Christmas tree, don’t forget the reason for the season and celebrate the priceless gift that came in the form of a newborn Christmas baby.
Jesus came to earth for you and me and that is the greatest Gift we can receive. Merry Christmas!
