Dear Faithful Reader...1/18/2019 The New Year has come and the novelty of it has worn off. The holidays are over and the dust has settled from the season’s craziness. Life is starting to return to its normal routine. But my blog has been extremely silent. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten you. Life has just been extremely full. From the busyness of Christmas to the fullness of everyday life with work and ministry, it’s been difficult to find time to stop and simply catch my breath. However, this has also been a great season of inner reflection and quiet moments with the Lord.
With that being said, I do have a couple of projects in the works, including a new Bible study. So stay tuned for that, as I continue to prepare and get ready to unveil it in the next couple of weeks or so (Lord willing!). It’s a big study, and therefore, requires a little more preparation. I also plan on revitalizing a couple of other subseries on this blog. As I looked back on 2018, I realized that I had neglected a couple of areas, so the plan for 2019 is to revive them and write more! Below is a rundown of the subseries that I plan on bringing back to life and my goals for the New Year. Lord willing, I’ll be able to follow through with my plan. “Here I Am to Worship” As a budding worship leader, this series is near and dear to my heart. I feel that worship is vital to a healthy Christian life and that the Church is desperate for true, genuine, Spirit-filled worship. I originally started this series as a place to share songs that have touched my heart and ministered to me. However, as I prayed and pondered about what it means to lead worship, I feel that I need to switch gears with “Here I Am to Worship” and become more intentional with what I share. So moving forward, the plan is to post songs and short messages in a worship set kind of flow. In other words, I will choose songs and post them in order as I would a live worship service. (If that made no sense to you, you’ll see what I’m talking about.) The goal is to make this area of the blog a place for deep spiritual refreshment and fellowship with the Lord through worship. I want it to become a place where you—the reader—are drawn into worship of the one, true God. “Girls Corner” Girls, you are not forgotten! I have many more topics to discuss, things to share, and encouragement to give. As a single young woman with many of my friends getting married or in relationships, I know how easy it is to get distracted by the exciting things going on in other people’s personal lives. However, God has exciting things for us right here and right now! We just need to remember that while marriage and love is a beautiful thing, it doesn’t hold a candle to the divine romance God has started with each one of us. I plan to post more in the “Girls Corner” this year and share thoughts on how we, as single girls, can continue delighting ourselves in the Lord. In the meantime, press into the Savior and make Him your one, true love. “Into His Image” Random ponderings, reflections, and meditations. I still have them….I just forget to write them down and develop them. So one of my New Year resolutions is to write them down. I don’t want to lose the things God puts on my heart, no matter how small. So hopefully there will be more posts on “Into His Image” this year as I prayerfully develop and journal the random thoughts and reflections God gives me. There you have it. That is my plan and goals for So I Fix My Eyes in 2019. I pray that this blog continues to be a blessing and encouragement to you as you fix your eyes on Jesus Christ and the things that are eternal. Joyfully in Christ, Kristin
