Worship Set 7 - "Christ is Risen"10/23/2019 This past summer, my family and I had the opportunity to spend several weekends away on vacation in a different area from which we live. During that time, we attended a church we all love and enjoyed times of great worship and teaching. Over the several weekends we were there, the worship team led a song each service that really stuck with me. It resonated in my mind and heart so much, that when I got home I quickly looked up the song and learned it. Since then, I’ve been introducing it to my church and now I want to share it with you. It’s a song declaring the glory of Christ, the story of the cross, and the power of the resurrection. During a season of increased darkness as the world celebrates evil with the coming of Halloween, let’s lift up the name of Jesus and declare His power over death and the grave! “Christ is Risen” was written by three great worship song writers: Phil Wickham, Brian Johnson, and Mac Brock. From various parts of the country, these three collaborated on this song and the Holy Spirit moved through them to create a powerful anthem for the Church. This song is packed full of great stuff, making it hard to choose a favorite part. But I have to say that the section that stirs and touches my heart the most is the second chorus: "Hallelujah, Christ is risen from the grave Hallelujah, Christ is risen from the grave And all throughout eternity our song will be the same Hallelujah, Christ is risen from the grave.” I pray that this song touches and ministers to you as much as it as to me and my family. May you gain a new sense of the glory of Christ as you read the lyrics and listen to the song. May Jesus’ atoning work at the cross grip your heart anew, and may the power of His resurrection give you renewed hope and reason to sing. Here’s “Christ is Risen” by Phil Wickham, Brian Johnson, and Mac Brock. "Christ is Risen" by Phil Wickham, Brian Johnson, Mac Brock Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me For I once was lost but now I'm found Was blind but now I see Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave The prodigal is welcomed home The sinner now a saint For the God who died came back to life And everything is changed Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave Oh death, where is your sting? Oh fear, where is your power? For the mighty King of kings has disarmed you Delivered and redeemed Eternal life resounds Oh praise His name forever Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave And all throughout eternity Our song will be the same Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave And on the day You call me in To Heaven's sweet embrace I'll see Your scars, Your open arms And the beauty of Your face Through tears of joy, I'll lift my voice In everlasting praise Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave Oh death, where is your sting? Oh fear, where is your power? For the mighty King of kings has disarmed you Delivered and redeemed Eternal life resounds Oh praise His name forever Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave And all throughout eternity Our song will be the same Hallelujah Christ is risen from the grave
