Worship Set 2 - "More Like Jesus"

​Worship songs come in all shapes and forms.  Some are long, complex and tell a story.  Others declare our faith and what we believe and contain bold statements.  While still others are extremely simple in lyric and music yet convey deep emotion and a heartfelt prayer.  The final song I’m going to share with you this month and that will complete our Worship Set 2 falls into the last category.  

​“More Like Jesus” written by Passion Music down in Atlanta, Georgia, is simple in every way.  Simple no fuss musical lines and to-the-point lyrics similar to “Jesus Loves Me.”  However, as with “Jesus Loves Me” it is a powerfully moving song.  In a nutshell the easiest way to describe this song is a prayer.   A prayer from the depths of our hearts asking for more of Jesus.  A prayer of surrender and a request to be changed.  A prayer that we should all be praying. 
 
The first time I heard this song it sent chills up my back.  And now as I practice and worship with it on my own it can bring tears to my eyes.  So as we close out this worship set, I’d like you to take time and ponder the words of this song.  Read the lyrics and also listen to the song, and let it speak to you.  Let the words listed below become your own as you cry out to the Lord for more of Him and less of you.  Here’s “More Like Jesus” by Passion.
