Worship Set 2 - "Lead Me to the Cross"5/22/2019 Communion. Jesus instituted this tradition and a way of remembering His sacrifice the night before He was arrested, and it has been observed by the Church for the last 2,000 years. At my church we take communion the first Sunday of every week, and as the elements are passed out we sing a song. Therefore, since May has five weeks in it, I decided to share one of the songs I use for communion. “Lead Me to the Cross” by Brooke Ligertwood contains a powerful message and encourages introspection and reflection on Christ’s sacrifice and our response. Thus making this song the perfect one to share for communion. It’s a prayer, a commitment, and a declaration all rolled into one beautiful and poignant song. While it’s hard to choose a favorite part of this song because it’s all so good, my favorite part is probably the chorus. “Lead me to the cross where Your blood poured out, bring to my knees Lord I lay me down, rid me of myself I belong to You, Lord lead, lead me to the cross.” May this moving song touch your heart and minister to you as you remember all that Christ has done for you and what your response will be. Here’s “Lead Me to the Cross”. "Lead Me to the Cross" by Brooke Ligertwood Savior I come Quiet my soul, remember Redemption's hill Where Your blood was spilled For my ransom Everything I once held dear I count it all as lost Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross You were as I Tempted and tried Human The word became flesh Bore my sin and death Now you're risen Everything I once held dear I count it all as lost Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross To your heart To your heart Lead me to your heart Lead me to your heart Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross
