Worship Set 2 - "Christ is Risen"5/7/2019 Continuing on in our theme of celebrating God’s saving work on the cross and our salvation, today’s song for “Here I Am to Worship” is a powerful declaration and anthem of Christ’s victory over death. “Christ is Risen” by Matt Maher powerfully proclaims the central truth of our faith—Christ’s resurrection. But not only does this song provide us an anthem to raise in our church, but it also compellingly asks us to respond to the message personally. The awesome wonder of the resurrection should change and transform our lives. The fact that hell is defeated and death no longer holds its power, should excite, inspire, and enliven us. As the Church of Christ we are walking in victory, so let’s live like it! This is why I like this song so much. Not only does it help us declare what we believe, but it also motivates us to own it. Therefore, without further ado, here’s “Christ is Risen” by Matt Maher. "Christ is Risen" by Matt Maher / Mia Fieldes Let no one caught in sin remain Inside the lie of inward shame We fix our eyes upon the cross And run to Him who showed great love And bled for us Freely You've bled for us Christ is risen from the dead Trampling over death by death Come awake, come awake Come and rise up from the grave Christ is risen from the dead We are one with Him again Come awake, come awake Come and rise up from the grave Beneath the weight of all our sin You bowed to none but Heaven's will No scheme of Hell, no scoffer's crown No burden great can hold You down In strength You reign Forever let Your church proclaim Christ is risen from the dead Trampling over death by death Come awake, come awake Come and rise up from the grave Christ is risen from the dead We are one with Him again Come awake, come awake Come and rise up from the grave O death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory? O church, come stand in the light The glory of God has defeated the night O death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory? O church, come stand in the light Our God is not dead, He's alive, He's alive Christ is risen from the dead Trampling over death by death Come awake, come awake Come and rise up from the grave Christ is risen from the dead We are one with Him again Come awake, come awake Come and rise up from the grave
