Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

"Truth I'm Standing On"

Today, we are going to conclude our worship set focusing on God’s faithfulness through the storms of life and the fact that even in the fire and life’s hardest moments, God is always with us.  Over the last seven months, we have watched our nation spiral into chaos and division.  The increased pressure caused by COVID-19 brought to light points of high tension across our country.  Therefore, in the midst of all the unrest, tragedy, conflict, polarization, and loss, I believe that today’s song is especially appropriate for us to focus on and declare to ourselves, our families, and our communities.
“Truth I’m Standing On” was written by Leanna Crawford and Matthew West, and was inspired by the testimony of a woman who lost her husband to cancer.  In the midst of her husband’s battle with cancer, this woman posted updates on social media and always concluded with a promise from Scripture and the hashtag “truth I’m standing on.”  Even after her husband lost his battle, this faith-filled woman kept posting truths from Scripture with this powerful hashtag.  This inspired Leanna Crawford and Matthew West to write this moving and powerful song.

“Truth I’m Standing On” reflects on all the pain, fear, doubt, and uncertainty difficult times can arouse in our lives, and gives us an anthem to sing in the middle of the storm.  My favorite part of this song is the chorus, which is a moving and powerful declaration of faith and trust in the promises of God.
“This is the truth I'm standing on
Even when all my strength is gone
You are faithful forever
And I know You'll never
Let me fall

Right now I'm choosing to believe
Someday soon I'll look back and see
All the pain had a purpose
Your plan was perfect all along
This is the truth I'm standing on”
I pray that as we end September, you will be blessed and encouraged by this anthem of faith and make it your heart’s prayer as we face an uncertain future as our nation—or you yourself—navigate a scary and difficult storm.  No matter what tomorrow brings, we can stand on the truths of God and choose to believe that all this pain has a purpose and that God is still sovereign and perfect.  This is the truth I’m standing on.  And I pray that you’ll join me in trusting the One who will never let us fall.  Here’s “Truth I’m Standing On” by Leanna Crawford and Matthew West.
"Truth I'm Standing On"

Scared, oh I thought I knew scared

Now I'm so filled with fear
I can barely move

Doubts, I've had my share of doubts

But never more than right now
I'm wondering where are You

I'm on the edge of fall apart

But somehow Your promises
Find my troubled heart

This is the truth I'm standing on

Even when all my strength is gone
You are faithful forever
And I know You'll never
Let me fall

Right now I'm choosing to believe

Someday soon I'll look back and see
All the pain had a purpose
Your plan was perfect all along
This is the truth I'm standing on

Good, I believe You're still good

Even when life's not good
I will not loose this hope

The God who parts the sea

Promises He's gonna
Make a way for me

This is the truth I'm standing on

Even when all my strength is gone
You are faithful forever
And I know You'll never
Let me fall

Right now I'm choosing to believe

Someday soon I'll look back and see
All the pain had a purpose
Your plan was perfect all along
This is the truth I'm standing on

My rock my shield my firm foundation

I know I will not be shaken
You remind me
Where my help comes from

This is the truth I'm standing on

Even when all my strength is gone
You are faithful forever
And I know You'll never
Let me fall

Right now I'm choosing to believe

Someday soon I'll look back and see
All the pain had a purpose
Your plan was perfect all along
This is the truth I'm standing o
