"Here Again"

​Life can be a difficult and lonely journey.  As the recent pandemic has highlighted for everyone, fear can cripple and isolation can dishearten.  However, God often uses these places to reveal the holes in our hearts and the deepest longing of our souls that only He can fill.  And while trials and difficult times often accentuate this truth, we need God and the companionship and fulfillment that only He can give on a daily basis.

​Therefore, over the past year as I asked God to stretch my faith and grow my trust as He leads me into new things, today’s song feature is one that has really resonated with me and become one of those songs stuck on repeat in my mind.  “Here Again” by Elevation Worship beautifully captures what should be the heart and soul cry of every follower of Christ.  We should daily desire more of God and long for more intimate and personal encounters with Him, remembering that His presence is constantly with us and that He’s always at work in and through our lives.
 
This song is mainly a prayer.  A prayer for God’s filling.  A prayer of recognition—that without Christ and His power we can do nothing.  A prayer for God to become our one and only desire.  And a prayer for empowerment and Holy Spirit filling, so that God may be glorified through our lives.  While this song is simple, the truths it contains and deep, heart-searching prayer it gives are powerful.

May the words and prayer of this song become the cry of our hearts now and throughout our days.  May we never be content in our relationship with the Lord but always be longing and desiring a deeper walk, a fresh encounter, and a more dependent and all-consuming relationship with the Most High God.
