Come and worship the Creator who alone is worthy of our praise

Here I Am to Worship

"Hallelujah Here Below"

Fall is in the air!  Kids are back to school and everyone is starting to get COVID fatigue. With the reality of a new season approaching and another semester of distance learning, many are feeling despair about how long this pandemic will alter their lives.  Add to this natural disasters like wildfires and hurricanes and the pressure becomes too much.  Uncertainty and ambivalence is high along with feelings of anxiety and stress.  And Christians are not immune to these feelings.  We also are trying to plan for the future in a world that is changing on an almost daily basis.  So how can we navigate this season?  How can we refocus our attention on truth?  How can we ease the loneliness, stress, anxiety, and fear that we feel?
Worship.  It’s that simple.  Through worship we realign our thinking and mindset with truth.  Through worship we change our perspective by fixing our eyes on Jesus and remembering His promises.  Through worship we can calm our hearts, still our minds, and rekindle our faith.  Therefore, this month’s worship set is going to focus on songs that remind us that God is in control, that He’ll never leave or forsake us, that He walks with us through the difficult times, and that He is faithful to His promises.

So to kick this set off, we’re going to focus our hearts on God’s perspective and why we are here on this earth.  Elevation Worship’s song “Hallelujah Here Below” is a great reminder of our chief aim in life:  to worship God and give Him glory from here below.  God doesn’t need our praise.  He has angels who worship Him 24/7.  However, He wants our songs.  He desires our worship and communion with Him.  Therefore, may we remember this in the midst of the craziness around us and take time to lift a hallelujah from here below.

My favorite part is the imagery found in the first two verses of the song.  It is a great reminder of how much God values our praises, and leads us to break out in the rousing chorus of “Hallelujah.”
We are an altar of broken stones
But You delight in the offering
You have the heavens to call Your home
But You abide in the song we sing

Ten thousand angels surround Your throne
To bring You praise that will never cease
But hallelujah from here below
Is still Your favorite melody
I pray that you are blessed and encouraged by this song, and will use it to lift your eyes to heaven and remember your God-given purpose.  Take a minute or two to worship your God and bask in the presence of your King, because afterwards, you’ll find that the cares of this life will be less overwhelming.  Here’s “Hallelujah Here Below” by Elevation Worship.

We are an altar of broken stones

But You delight in the offering
You have the heavens to call Your home
But You abide in the song we sing

Ten thousand angels surround Your throne

To bring You praise that will never cease
But hallelujah from here below
Is still Your favorite melody

We sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
We sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

And should the fire that once burned bright

Become an ember my eyes can't see
I will remember Your sacrifice
I will abide in Your love for me

Oh, we sing

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
We sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Jesus Christ our King enthroned
All the praise is Yours forevermore
Hallelujah here below
All the praise is Yours forevermore

Jesus Christ our King enthroned

All the praise is Yours forevermore
Hallelujah here below
All the praise is Yours forevermore

Oh, what a wonderful day to come

When every knee bows before Your name
But we will not wait until it does
For here and now shall Your Kingdom reign

We sing

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
We sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Such a timely and powerful reminder to generously offer our sacrifices of praises to the one who is above all.
