Continuing our focus on God’s incredible love, today’s song feature explores the greatness of God’s love and how far He was willing to pursue us. I wonder if we sometimes grow callused to the awesomeness of God’s love and lose sight of how great a sacrifice and how much it cost Him to love us so. We get used to the story of the cross and the message of salvation that it is no longer novel or amazing. But this is a danger place to be! For God’s love is amazing and we should never lose our wonder and gratitude for His immense sacrifice.

Worship Set 10 - "Follow You Anywhere"1/29/2020 As we come to the close of January and get used to the rhythm and routine of 2020, let’s not forget the excitement and anticipation we had at New Year’s. Let’s not forget the resolutions, dreams, and goals we made at the beginning of the year. And may we especially not forget the covenants and resolutions we made with God. So as we wrap up our New Year worship set, I have a special song I want to share with you that focuses on our devotion to the Lord.
Worship Set 10 - "Jesus Paid it All"1/22/2020 I love it when timeless hymns are given new life and vigor. Not that the original song was old-fashioned or out-dated, but sometimes a new bridge or chorus to a traditional hymn allows it to speak to a new generation in a fresh way. I feel like this is true for the hymn “Jesus Paid it All” with Passion Music’s new bridge added to it.
Worship Set 10 - "Holy Ground"1/1/2020 Happy New Year! Welcome to 2020! I’m so excited what God has in store for this year and this new decade! We live during an exciting time when the stage is set for God to work in mighty ways. And the amazing thing is that we can be a part of what God is going to do. What an awesome God we serve!
Worship Set 8 - "Fade Away"11/27/2019 To wrap up our month of worship focused on surrender and gratitude, I want to share with you a song that has been speaking deeply to me over the last couple of months. It’s a call to surrender, a call to make Jesus our everything and all that we’ll ever need. It’s a prayer, asking God to fill us with more of Himself and less of ourselves. It’s an anthem to declare to ourselves, reminding us of our mission and purpose. This is “Fade Away” by Passion Music.
God, You're So Good8/28/2019 As we wrap up our worship focus of God’s faithfulness, I want to share with you a beautiful retake on a classic chorus. “God, You’re So Good” was originally written by Travis Green and became popular during the Jesus movement. This was a time in Christian music when songs were simplified and contained choruses that were catchy and easy to remember. Song writers were moving away from the hymn style and structure and were creating short, easily learned melodies and lyrics.
Worship Set 2 - "More Like Jesus"5/29/2019 Worship songs come in all shapes and forms. Some are long, complex and tell a story. Others declare our faith and what we believe and contain bold statements. While still others are extremely simple in lyric and music yet convey deep emotion and a heartfelt prayer. The final song I’m going to share with you this month and that will complete our Worship Set 2 falls into the last category.
"Behold the Lamb"3/18/2019 Now that we have learned to appropriately prepare our hearts for worship, let’s dive into actually worshipping the Lord through song. The plan is to share one song each week and build a worship set of four songs each month. However, since we’re in mid-March, we will wait until April to start the first worship set.
In the meantime, I have a couple of powerful songs I’d like to share with you as we get ready for Resurrection Sunday and all that it stands for. Today’s worship song is “Behold the Lamb” by Passion Worship. |
